Both current ACE MSN pathway pages publish a separate 50-hour NUR5043 practice experience plus a 150-hour selected capstone in NUR5094 or NUR5194. Those components sum to 200 hours. Only RN-to-MSN expressly labels each focus as a 200-hour practicum experience; neither capstone is a 200-hour course. Use the active pathway and course rather than describing every ACE student as owing the same number.

Ask ACE for the student's current accepted-hour record and the instructions that apply to the active course. Separate hours already accepted from hours merely worked, scheduled, submitted, or awaiting review. A timesheet, project task, or mentor meeting should not be called countable until the course process confirms it. The useful recovery number is the remaining approved requirement, not a personal estimate.

Build a dated worksheet with the course code, pathway, focus, term end, accepted hours, pending entries, remaining hours, mentor availability, site access, and project milestones. If the shortfall affects registration or program sequencing, obtain that answer from the current ACE advisor or course team. Public program pages explain hours and settings, but they do not publish one universal recovery or extension procedure.

NUR5094 applies leadership and management concepts in a healthcare organizational setting with a nurse-leader mentor. ACE says students develop and implement evidence-based leadership and management strategies in the selected environment. A replacement or added schedule must preserve that administrator focus instead of treating any available nurse or clinical floor as interchangeable.

NUR5194 is different. ACE describes the Nurse Educator role in an academic or clinical practice setting, completed in collaboration with a nurse educator mentor, and requires a scholarly project relevant to professional nursing education. A teaching contact without appropriate project access may not solve the shortfall, just as a strong administrator may not satisfy the educator role.

List the activities that remain, the mentor role needed, and the access the organization must permit. The physical site and mentor should be screened together because the mentor cannot authorize resources, learners, meetings, data, or project activity that the organization withholds. Confirm the exact fit through the current ACE course process before adding dates to the calendar.

Divide the remaining approved requirement by the weeks and days genuinely available, then compare that schedule with mentor capacity and site hours. Include work shifts, commute time, project preparation, organization closures, and the possibility that a required contact is unavailable. A mathematically possible schedule can still fail when it depends on access the site has not confirmed.

Prioritize physical organizations that match the course and can support repeat attendance. ACE's current nursing career guide describes its online nursing programs as requiring an in-person practicum. Online coursework therefore should not be used as evidence that missed practice hours can be completed from home. The default recovery search should identify a real mentor and physical environment.

Keep a backup route active until written requirements, site access, and mentor availability align. A backup is a distinct qualified prospect, not repeated messages to the same department. Record contact dates, decision owners, requested documents, and the next follow-up point so an urgent search remains orderly.

A request involving remote observation, online teaching activity, video meetings, or off-site project work needs a current written answer for the exact ACE course. The permission should address the student, mentor, organization, physical site, activity, state, supervision, documentation, and dates. A general statement that ACE coursework is online does not decide whether a practicum activity counts.
