When an ACE virtual-capable practicum request can be reviewed
ACE's current nursing career guide says its online nursing programs require an in-person practicum, so online coursework is not permission for virtual practice hours. A remote component can enter our review only when explicit current written ACE, course, site, and state permission covers the exact proposal.
Begin with the published in-person baseline
ACE describes its nursing programs as online, but its public nursing career guide distinguishes online study from an in-person practicum. That distinction controls the starting assumption. A virtual campus, online classroom, video platform, remote employee, or technology-enabled project does not by itself establish that practice activity may occur away from the physical organization.

If a student has no written remote permission, we keep the request in this physical category and do not market a virtual match as an alternative.

Use pathway-specific practice facts in the request
Both current ACE MSN pathway pages publish a separate 50-hour NUR5043 practice experience plus a 150-hour selected capstone in NUR5094 or NUR5194. Those components sum to 200 hours. Only RN-to-MSN expressly labels each focus as a 200-hour practicum experience; neither capstone is a 200-hour course. A permission request should name the pathway, active course, and activity instead of asking whether all practice can be virtual.
NUR5094 occurs in a healthcare organizational setting in collaboration with a nurse-leader mentor, where leadership and management strategies are developed and implemented. NUR5194 occurs in an academic or clinical practice setting with a nurse educator mentor and includes a scholarly project relevant to professional nursing education. A proposed format must preserve the course role and environment.
The public pages do not publish a universal remote-hour allowance or virtual practicum percentage for these nursing courses. Do not create one. Ask the current ACE course team to state which specific activities, if any, may occur remotely and how they must be supervised and documented.
Collect written permission that addresses the whole proposal
A reviewable file identifies the ACE pathway, focus, course, mentor, organization, physical site, state, student location, activity location, project, dates, weekly schedule, supervision method, documentation, privacy controls, and organization contact. Written ACE permission should address the course and proposed activity rather than offer a broad statement that remote work is possible.
The organization must also confirm that its access, technology, confidentiality, learner or project, and student-participation rules permit the proposal. A mentor cannot individually authorize systems, meetings, learners, data, or project resources controlled by the employer. ACE and site permissions should describe the same activity and dates.
State permission matters because the physical organization and student may be in different places. Do not choose the governing state by convenience or assume an RN license alone settles the question. Ask ACE and the organization to identify the state requirements they expect the student and mentor to satisfy for the exact setup.

Understand the limits of our virtual-capable service
We consider a virtual-capable service request only after the student supplies explicit current written ACE, course, site, and state permission. We then assess whether a candidate mentor and physical organization can support the permitted activity. If the written answer is missing, outdated, general, or inconsistent with site policy, we continue only with physical sourcing.
The service outcome is a candidate mentor, site, and project direction prepared for review, not an approved virtual practicum. We cannot guarantee placement, ACE approval, organization permission, accepted hours, or completion by a certain date. The student should not begin or record remote activity until the current written process authorizes it.
Keep a physical fallback plan. A conditional remote component may fail because the mentor changes, the site declines access, the activity does not fit the course, a state question remains open, or documentation cannot be completed. A physical candidate can preserve another route without being represented as preapproved.
